Parents Must Eat Healthy to Have Healthy Kids

Healthy eating is one easy and quick way to have healthy kids. Since children watch and follow what their parents do, it is important for parents to eat healthy if they expect their kids to. As their biggest role models, parents have the greatest influence on their kids.

Before you can help your kids get healthier, you must look at yourself. Your kids have a better chance of living a healthy life if you do. After all, you can’t expect your kids not to want some chips if you’ve opened a bag for yourself.

Many single parents want to keep health insurance for their children, but do not feel they can afford it. When cutting back expenses, health insurance is often one of the first things to go. However, no matter how costly health insurance can be, medical bills for an accident or illness can far surpass those costs. Not having insurance on your children can actually end up causing you even more financial stress than having it.

For people who fall into a low income bracket, state Medicaid insurance may be an option for you to insure your children. If your income is below a designated amount, your children may be eligible for medical insurance through programs like Florida Healthy Kids Program and the Charlie Christ Program. Programs like this are available in all states. Information can be requested though local social services offices. Medicaid insurance often covers most medical procedures, office visits, emergency room visits, and all medically related expenses prescribed or performed by a doctor. Read the rest of this entry »
